    OCR - optical character recognition
    We have expanded our traditional methods of data capture through scanning, optical character recognition (OCR), intelligent character recognition (ICR) and optical mark recognition (OMR) technologies. These automated data capture methods are ideal for high speed processing of a large volume of identical forms such as: Insurance, Medical, Banking, and Bill Remittance Forms. OCR is a process of using specialized software to turn images into editable text. Together, they provide us the ability to turn paper documents into re-usable formats, like MS Word files, MS Excel files, PDF files or HTML pages. OCR can also be used to turn image-based PDF files back into editable text. Having been used to such automated methods of document processing provides its OCR perfection services in various formats such as: Checks with OCR, Full text with OCR, Indexing using OCR, Barcode recognition, Handwritten text with OCR. For better quality of OCR'd file, we do proof reading. Files with normal text undergo online proofing whereas texts containing special characters, chemical formulae, superscript characters, subscript characters that are more difficult to OCR through software, require manual proof reading. This is done through comparing hard copy with soft copy.
    OMR - Optical Marking Recognition
    OMR and ICR technologies represent some of the most advanced and most productive breakthroughs in data processing. These systems take OCR to a higher level allowing us to process items such as surveys, tests, registration forms, and evaluation forms at much higher speeds and much lower expense.

    Optical Marking Recognition is an old technology pumped up to use the newest advances in hardware and software to really become an efficient data processing tool. This technology started out as a way to read forms like those bubble-oval tests used in high schools and colleges throughout the world. Now however it allows check boxes, slash marks, and a wide variety of options to insure that the end-user doesn't have to be using that Number 2 pencil and drawing inside the lines.
    ICR
    The most advanced character recognition created. This software will read handwritten printed information; convert it to digital text, then prompt a data operator to verify any items difficult to translate. This is incredibly accurate for properly designed forms that can coach the person filling out the form in a user-friendly manner.
    The Marriage of OMR/ICR:
    We generally find that either ICR or OMR alone can cause applications that either need too much verification or they provide documents that cannot gather enough dynamic data like names, address, email addresses and so forth.

RCO-- Our generally preferred method for data capture is Optical Character Recognition (OCR), an automated process that creates digital machine-readable versions. It refers to the branch of computer science that involves reading text from paper and translating the images into a form that the computer can manipulate. An OCR system enables you to take a book or a magazine article, feed it directly into an electronic computer file, and then edits the file using a word processor.

Key entry OCR systems can read text in large variety of fonts, but they still have difficulty with handwritten text. Comparatively speaking, the accuracy of OCR is lower than key entry. We have many levels of data accuracy and processes to guarantee different accuracy including single key, double key & compare and more if necessary based on clients.
